Traditional British meadows, wildlife and hedgerows are the inspiration for many of this summer’s prettiest interiors ideas. The best of the hedgerow prints, however, come from Fiona Howard. The Hove-based designer specialises in mugs, laminated-birch tea trays, tea towels and cushion covers in heavyweight linen/cotton decorated with her original prints. Howard’s duck-egg blue and white Hedgerow mug features a bold graphic of dandelion clocks, while Bird is a charming print of a thrush perched among leaves (mugs, £8.50 each; 01273 731646, fifibyfionahoward.com ). There’s a bracing, outdoorsy feel to Howard’s wares. A couple of these mugs set on one of the designer’s Wild Pods trays (20cm x 27cm, £9) would be the perfect kit for a gardener’s tea break.
